The University of Utah is hiring a joint postdoc co-advised by Prof. Ling Zang of material science and Prof. Tao Gao of chemical engineering in the field of Li-ion battery and electrochemical engineering. Candidates with research experience in batteries and electrochemistry are welcome to apply. Expected start date: Fall 2024

Bio: Prof. Zang is a professor in material science and Nano Institute of Utah. His lab focuses on the design and synthesis of functional materials for energy and sustainability applications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of National Academy of Inventors, and a Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Research Foundation. Prof. Gao is an assistant professor in chemical engineering at the University of Utah. He did PhD with Chunsheng Wang at University of Maryland College Park and postdoc with Prof. Martin Bazant at MIT. His lab focuses on the design of electrochemical technology for energy and sustainability applications. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers in Science, Nature Chemistry, Nature Materials, etc. He has a total citation of >18, 000 and h-index of 59. He has won many awards including Clarivate Global Highly Cited Researcher (2022, 2023), Rising Star of Science Award (2022) and American Chemical Society Energy and Fuel Division Early Career Rising Star (2022).
